Nepal IPO Application & Prospectus Analysis Checklist

MeroShare Golden Rule: Standard retail IPO application in Nepal is 10 units (Kitta) = NPR 1,000 (at par value NPR 100). Never apply for more than 10 units unless the issue is heavily under-subscribed or premium-priced.

1 Account & MeroShare Prerequisites

Demat & MeroShare Expiry Status

Ensure your Demat (NPR 100/yr) and MeroShare (NPR 50/yr) renewal fees are paid. Expired accounts fail during C-ASBA verification.

Valid C-ASBA CRN Number

Confirm your CRN (Customer Registration Number) is active with sufficient bank balance covering applied kitta + bank C-ASBA charge (NPR 0 to 5 max).

2 Prospectus Financial Health Checks

Net Worth Per Share (Book Value)

Examine page 4 of the Abridged Prospectus. Look for Net Worth Per Share > NPR 100. If below NPR 100, the company has accumulated negative reserves.

Audited EPS & 3-Year Trend

Verify that Earnings Per Share (EPS) is positive. For hydropower projects, confirm Commercial Operation Date (COD) and PPA tariff agreements with NEA.

ICRA / CARE Nepal Credit Rating

Check the credit rating report: Grade 3 or better (e.g., [ICRANP-IR] BBB-) indicates moderate safety, while Grade 5 (Default / High Risk) warns of severe financial distress.

3 Application & Allotment Follow-up

Application Status Verification

After submitting on MeroShare, navigate to 'Application Report' and verify that status transitions from 'Unverified' to 'Verified' by your bank.

Allotment & TMS Listing

Check allotment results on iporesult.cdsc.com.np. Once listed on NEPSE (usually 10-14 days), shares appear in your Demat for trading via TMS.
